About Our Director:
Our Camp Director Nicole Currie, returning for her 3rd summer, has had a life-long passion for sports. A two-sport athlete growing up, soccer and volleyball were her focus from a young age.
Nicole played volleyball for the Aurora Storm as a teenager while at the same time maintaining a rigorous schedule as a rep soccer player. Opportunities to pursue soccer at the collegiate level resulted in a NCAA Division 1 scholarship at Northern Arizona University. Nicole completed her studies and competitive soccer career at Wilfred Laurier University where she led her team to multiple CIS tournament appearances.
A graduate of Western University’s Bachelor of Education program, Nicole is currently a teacher in the York Region District School Board and has returned to the Aurora Storm Volleyball Club and is on the coaching staff of their 15U girls’ team.
All of us at Madawaska are excited to have Nicole back in a leadership role at our Day Camp. She brings with her a great passion for volleyball, a wonderful commitment to seeing young people further their skills as athletes and teammates and she will be a great bridge between camp and home as our program administrator.
We look continue to look forward to the success of camp under her leadership and know that both campers and staff benefit greatly from her positive influence.
