Madawaska Staff Selected to Coach 18U Men's and Women's Provincial Teams

Madawaska Volleyball Camp is very proud to promote the successes of our exceptional coaching staff in the sport of volleyball outside of the one week we share together at the end of every summer. Recently the announcement of the Men's 18U Provincial coaching staff includes three Madawaska staff members. Head Coach Matthew Andrews-Harris will be assisted by Ian Eibbitt and Peter Millsap. This selected coaching combination will provide a well-rounded foundation for overall team success. Matt, Ian and Peter each bring many years of experience in the coaching position. This season Matt is coaching with the Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence in Toronto as well as being Head Coach of Markham Stingers 16U Men's volleyball team and assistant coach of the Ryerson Women's team. Ron Ashworth (Feb. 4, 1947 - Sept. 10, 2012)

It is with great sadness that I tell you, our very own Ron Ashworth past away suddenly on September 10, 2012 at 65 years of age. Rockin' Ron was a coach with Madawaska camps for 20 years and he will be missed terribly. If you so desire, donations to Hotel Dieu Hospital ICU would be appreciated by the family. Catching our breath after an awesome two weeks of Mad-Camp!

"Awesome" doesn't even come close to describing how wonderful our two weeks of camp were this year. Thank you to our counsellors, specialists, assistant directors, medical team, coaches, section heads, guest coaches, CITs, CIT coordinator, photographer, program team, Olympians, kitchen staff, maintenance staff and finally to our amazing campers and their families for making this year so amazing! Campers come home today!

Well this message is bitter-sweet...our campers leave us today but last night's Talent Show has us all leaving on a high! We are so proud of the courageous people (campers and staff) who had the courage to audition and perform in front of nearly 700 people last night. Congratulations to our third place winner, Ethan M. who opened our show with an amazing drum solo to "Let's Get it Started". Second place goes to singer Eleri M. for her unbelievable version of Taylor Swift's "Safe and Sound". And finally, the duet of Shaun M. & Adriene D. won the crowd over with a beautiful and moving version of "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz. Thanks to all of our contestants for an entertaining night!
